I store my boat in an unheated shed. Will the below freezing temps damage my electronics. I have always removed them in the past. Just wondering if that is necessary?
Thanks in advance,
Kirk

Should be fine. Just think of the in-dash units. I don't think guys are taking those out...

I bring mine in, just because I want to be sure the are secure.

My boat is outside so my electronics get pulled and locked up in the safe. Best place for them...out of the way and out of sight. No, they are not in-dash.

The Helix at the helm of my tiller boat has that adapter thing, so it's just one plug to pull out, so that comes inside. The Helix at the bow, is an all season, that becomes my ice unit in the winter, so that comes off. Even though they can probably handle the cold, why not bring them in? Unless it's in dash, not much to removing them.

My boat is stored in my unheated/insulated garage and I remove them. I have an in-dash/flush mounted screen that is removed too. Its not hard to take out.

Even though both my units are rated below freezing, I feel better about keeping them in my house.

Check your owners manual to see what the low temperature is they can tolerate. Although most are rated below freezing nowadays, I had a Gen 2 Lowrance that I sold a few years ago that was not rated below 32 degrees.
