Been a while since I have heard any information on all the stocking fuss with Gull Lake. Any more going on with that?

Probably hear more, when the fish are bigger, and someone catches a 50 during a lull in the walleye bite.

Muskie can grow quickly. If they are eating well I’d say when stocked to 3years they can be a good sized fish. Population depends on how many are actually still living after being stocked. Maybe you can find some surveys on the percentages.

I think initial stockings were in 2016. With good growth there might be some 40" fish in there now. But low 40s probably. Probably lots of 30" range fish.

The best way to get a good read about a lake is find out when the dnr is putting out survey nets in spring,,then volunteer to help,,they like having someone willing to pull nets in.
They didn't take any volunteers for anything during covid hopefully they are taking volunteers again, been a few years since I've done this but you learn alot about that body of water your on.
