Location: Ludington, MI | The beaver discussion got me thinking: Does anyone have certain conditions where they'll reach for deer hair over marabou or tinsel? Or any conditions when you prefer any of them over the other?

Location: Chisholm, MN | I'll throw marabou when I'm having a hard time casting into the wind. Otherwise I mainly throw tinsel. |

Location: Brighton CO. | I have a lot of all three, tinsel runs deeper than marabou in the late 90's I started fishing Marabou because everyone else was throwing bucktail well maybe to be different I should start bucktail again? I like my home made Wizz! Or a Crankbait! |

Location: SE, WI. | I'm pretty much done with all tinsel spinners. Past 5 years or SO, My CUSTOMS incorporate hair over tinsel. OR Maribou With tinsel blended in. Just toooooo Much frustration with the tangling , knotting, and tinsel balling up. The spinnerbait heads take away any tork against the coil wire from spinning. The hair or Boo controls the tinsel, BUT still plenty of Flash. And The tinsel acts as the trailer.....If you need more depth, Just add more weight! JD

Location: Walker, MN | I reach for tinsel when I want a bigger profile, as it flares to the edge of the vortex created by the blade/blades. When they aren't going on tinsel I reach for marabou or bucktail...sometimes (like for pressured fish) the thinner profile coming through the water is better. I tie some of my own with rubber skirts, they seem to like it just as well most of the time. The blade/blades are more important imo. |

I'm not opinionated on the matter myself too much. But I'd like to hear thoughts. |
