Location: North Central IL USA | Anyone use a 9-inch sluggo for a throwback bate or just in general? If so, what hook do you use? I've heard the one that comes with them is not the best option. |

6" Kalins for reference
Looks like Violent strike is using a 9-11/0.
Single hook out of package is a Red October 11/0 Stinger.
Sorry struggled with sizing hence the multiple posts.

Location: SE, WI. | Greg, Great throw back bait. Jay posted some really good hooks for Sluggo"s. Yes, this a really good bait, especially in Spring. I have a Mold of the 9" and 6". Sluggo's seem to really be attacked because of the narrow profile. I took 2/3, of the 9" sluggo, and incorporated it with this twin tail. Bass guys seem to like it for bass, and coming through heavy cover because of the stream line front end. The plastic shrinks down nicely to form a pocket on top side of bait to help hide hook through weeds. Can also fish it with a Jig Head. OR a piece of coat hanger works well for adding weight. OR, can pour this bait buoyant with Bubbles infused in Plastic to keep up High! JD

I didn't say b4, but pic is of the marabou extractor.
Had to look it up Steve, cuz mine ain't 12 or weighted, thought maybe there was a design change possibly. Extractors use unweighted 9/0. The buzzers use weighted 12/0's.
Greg PM'd me this link earlier. Unique design in my eye's, I'll prolly pic some up soon.

Location: Walker, MN | The Hogy Double Wide is a good one, if you can find them...not sure they make it anymore.
The ZMan Elaztech 10" Heroz is another one that fits the bill. |
