| Anyone know where I can find a 10 foot rod tube? Or at that length are we looking at a PVC DIY project? |

Location: Kansas City MO | I've got a 10' piece of 4" PVC with female adapters on the end. I put expanding foam in the small depressions of the 4" plugs. We fit 5 rods in it and have driven 12 hours each way multiple times with no damage. |

Location: Brighton CO. | I made PVC rod holder for my 8 & 9 footers. I put my rods in rod socks and run two one way and the other the other way then stuff a piece of bubble wrap to keep them from rattling. when I come to Muskie country in Wisconsin or Minnesota I'm coming from Colorado. When I fished with 7" rod I had factory made rod holder that split in two. |

Location: Brighton CO. | For years we would drive up north and meet friends so we would load the boat full of gear and our fishing buddy would come from Chicago in his car. Our friend was semiretired and he had nicer cars for taking clients out, So he would buy a car that the back seat would fold down (side by side) so he could only have to fold one side down. Put his gear in the trunk and run his rods down the center console. My car has this feature so if I get a new lure or build a new bucktail I can throw my rod in the car and go to a little lake in town and make a few casts. For these short trips I don't need a rod tube. In fact our friend being by himself never used a tube he was just careful. |

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota | If l your not bringing a lot of rods you could get away with 3”, with either one all you would need is a pvc cap for one end and a clean out adapter and plug. I used one for awhile and always just out a rag or T-shirt at the end where the rod tips go to prevent anything from getting damaged. I got sick of not being able to fit full sized rods in my truck and switched to an suv. Fishing wise it’s so much better I don’t think I’ll go back |

| Yep pvc for me too. If you're really concerned with your rod tips, buy some 3/8 30R7 fuel line at your local auto parts store and cut it into 2" sections. Works in the tube and also when your 2 hours into your trip and can no longer stand the sound of your rods vibrating against the back window of your truck. Another way to solve that is to get married, and then your rods will no longer ride shotgun. Not sure what's noisier, though... |
