Location: Metro, MN | While at Galyan's today, I couldn't help but put myself behind the eyes of muskies and pike, and think...mmmmmm, that looks juicy and tasty. Have any of you used the Slopee Pig weedless/topwater? For $16 it better be good, cuz that's the next one I'm going to get (unless you guys bash it out of the water). I like the 1-hook deal, and it seems like it would be great for weeds. Any stories behind this lure? |

Location: Carol Stream, IL | Never used it, but good luck trying to hook on a muskie on a topwater bait with one single hook. It's hard enough to hook 'em on top with multiple sets of trebles.

| Another tool. The only bait I've used and had 2 fish following on the same cast, both 40".LOTW.One little mod I do is to...1.trim the skirt a bit 2.Add a large single hook(I use an 8/0 stainless catfish hook)and 3. Add a mogambo grub of choice. New combo looks pretty good and hooks fish better. Gives the bait a bigger profile too.Lots of people laugh at the Sloppee but it can be another tool to root them out of the nasty stuff.Short downward twitches will make the bait walk the dog also.Might want to add a zip tie around the skirtas toothies will tear the rubber skirt collar. Location: Chicago, Beverly | I prefer the Slop Hog, though I am not sure if the Musky sized one is still made. If you can find it it should be much cheaper then the sloppee pig. Here is a link to the Bass sized one. http://www.isgfishing.com/acatalog/Online_Catalog_Weedless_Top_Wate... |

Location: oswego, il | You can make the slopee pig dance decent in the slop. I have not caught one on the bait but I have heard from others it hard to get one hooked. Jonesi's mose seems like a good easy one for the bait. You can also make the bait dive and work it sub surface too. |

| I have about 3 of the things. I promise that you can fish this thing where nothing else goes. The real problem is getting the brutes out of stuff you fish them in. Fish do live in the jungles. I would put the hooking percentage right up there with a Jackpot. |

Location: Oconto Falls, WI | I have one, but haven't used it much. The lure wasn't the right tool for the kind of jungle I wanted it for. One thing I know is if it has a hook up ratio like the bass fishing Moss Boss, I wouldn't buy it! The problem is the fish usually smash it from the bottom, and nock it straight up in the air. I think it ticks the fish off more than anything. |

| Jonesi -
Do you add that hook riding up or down? I would guess up to maintain the weedless properties of the bait, but I would think a trailer hook riding down should really up the hooking percentage.

Location: Metro, MN | FYI...Slopee Pig was $16 at Galyan's, and $8 at Fleet Farm! I got a Slopee Pig Jr. Seems easier to put a trailer hook on. |

| I put the hook on to ride up,in line w/ the main hook.May have to mash the barb a bit to get the trailer on. Also, turn the trailer to where the barb of the main hook slides on where the ring on the trailer is bent. Kinda hard to describe.Gook Luck. Steve |
