Subject: Cedar Lake vs Lake of the Woods

Talking to a guy I have fished with, he mentioned he and a buddy of his are looking to go to Canada in late September. They are both experienced fishermen, spend a lot of time on the water but both have 16' boats and are leary of Lake of the Woods that time of the year because of wind. They were up a few years ago and got tossed around pretty good. I wondered if Cedar Lake might be a better choice if wind is a major concern. I have not been there, just speculation based on looking at maps of the lake system.
Any of you able to compare the two bodies of water with regard to wind?

Cedar is workable when the wind blows but LOTW also has areas that are protected so it depends on where you stay.

Any lake can become 'small' on windy days, but Cedar Lake is small to begin with. It can get crowded, even though I did enjoy fishing it. And on windy days, some areas can get milky, which makes it even smaller.
