| Talking to a guy I have fished with, he mentioned he and a buddy of his are looking to go to Canada in late September. They are both experienced fishermen, spend a lot of time on the water but both have 16' boats and are leary of Lake of the Woods that time of the year because of wind. They were up a few years ago and got tossed around pretty good. I wondered if Cedar Lake might be a better choice if wind is a major concern. I have not been there, just speculation based on looking at maps of the lake system.
Any of you able to compare the two bodies of water with regard to wind? | |

| Cedar is workable when the wind blows but LOTW also has areas that are protected so it depends on where you stay.

| Any lake can become 'small' on windy days, but Cedar Lake is small to begin with. It can get crowded, even though I did enjoy fishing it. And on windy days, some areas can get milky, which makes it even smaller. | |
