| Here's an idea to get the kids out on the ice and keep them happy when the fish are not helping.....
Get a BB or pellet gun and a sleeve of Ritz crackers. Set up your tent (or no tent) and place the crackers at various distances. Hand the air rifle to the kids and let them blast away. There's nothing to pick up, no litter. Now, if you feel bold you guys can shoot at other people's tip ups and if one is hit/tripped your kid can yell "Flag!" and then you listen to the priceless giggles. Those guys needed to check the bait anyway.
