| As a proud member of the Milwaukee Chapter of Muskies, Inc. I'd like to say Happy Birthday, and thank Perry Smith for all his hard work the past couple years. Perry, I do believe you efforts are paying off, as we took in over 150 applications at the recent Milwaukee Muskie Expo.
Muskies, Inc.is celebrating it's 35th year of existence. Founded by Gil Hamm in 1966, the organization now has a membership of approximately 6500 members from over 40 states and 3 canadian provinces. Muskies, Inc. is a member driven organization with 43 chapters throughout the United States.
The Purposes of Muskies, Inc., established 35 years ago, have not changed. However, because of the tremendous growth and interest in the sport of muskie fishing our focus has changed. We are reaching out to all muskie fisherpersons, Muskie, Inc. members and non-members alike to join together to protect our existing fisheries and to develop new fisheries. We all need to join together in a united front to defend what we have and develop what we need. Otherwise, we will see our "love", taken away from us little by little.
For your information, although we were the first fishing organization to promote "Catch and Release", we do not promote it 100%. Every fisherperson has the right to make their own decision on this subject. As long as you have a fishing license and the fish meets the legal size requirements of the lake you caught it on, it's your choice.

What a pleasure to read. Thanks for your positive message and continued support. Because of the dream years ago and the continued involvement of thousands like yourselves, MI is alive and growing today. Thanks guys, and thanks to the silent majority of our fellow Musky fishers who "share the love", and refuse to get caught up in the negative drivel being diseminated out there today, you keep the dream alive and have ALL helped to make this the "Golden Age" of Musky angling.
