I have a 7'6" medium heavy All-Star rod, and I love it. It's my favorite of the ten or twelve rods I own. It has a rather soft tip, but still has plenty of backbone when you really lay into a log, or a rock, or the rare musky. My friend Chris bought the same rod in an 8' version, and he loves it, too. Not too expensive compared to some of the rods on the market, I think around $100? It also has a nice long handle on it, which helps on hooksets. Highly recommend the All-Star rods.

I have the 7'6" and the 8'0" both ex-heavy. Like em every bit as much as my Diamondback. Extra light, fantastic warranty. Two thumbs up!

I also have the 7'6" Ex Hvy and it is an awesome rod. I'm going to buy another soon.

I have the 8'6" x-hvy and love it . I've had this rod for 3 years and have caught fish up to 48" on it.Typically I use custom rods, but I can't put this one away. I love the action. Can throw a small bucktail or a med. Dawg.Best rod I own for grinding or slow rolling a spinnerbait(hint, hint). And for a buck19 retail, they are a great value.Good luck. You'll be happy with your All Star. Steve

Has anyone used a Abu-Garcia 7000 on the 8'6" Allstar? I use the balancer on my 8'6" Ex Heavy with a 6500C. Would I still need a balancer on the rod with the 7000? I have the 6'10" jerkbait rod, a 8'6" for topwater, spinnerbaits and bucktails and I just traded for a 8'0" Ex Heavy that I will use for twitching minnow baits, bucktails and topwater. The rods are heavier than most and take a while to get used to but they have POWER. I have caught fish up to 51" on the 8'6" with no problem. The long rods are great for boatside turns and figure 8's. I have G-Loomis, St Croix and others that just sat in the boat since I got my Allstars, now they dont leave the dock.

Hello, I use the 8 footer in heavy and extra heavy with 400te on them. Really like the set up and cannot wait to get back in the country to use them again. For the money I don't think you can get a better production rod...really light and strong...Ben
