I know fall usually means jerk baits, and big plastics, but, does anybody specifically throw shallow jointed crank baits? It seems like after a warm water season of throwing bucktails, cast and retrieve, a shallow running jointed crank bait could be a good replacement as the water temp. drops into the fifties. Trolling cranks are a whole different topic, so I want to keep this discussion on casting. If you do, what cranks do you like to use, water temps when you start and do specifically target certain areas with them? Kdawg

If you can find, Giant Scampers, mid size scampers, they’ve been $$ for years. They can be used anytime of the season. they R like a hog wobbler under surface. Metal lips R adjustable. Giant scampers run 2-6’ . Regular mid size 5-9’. Fish them over weeds, or shallow rock bars. Good thump, and water displacement! Fish these baits all the way down to 40 degrees.
