| Anyone happen to know what the 10' 0" telescopic rod stores at for length?
I have a few 9' that break down to 7' 6", so I am assuming the 10' would come in around 8' 6". I was looking to confirm that before purchasing one.
Anyone have a 10' 0" and prefer it over a 9' 0"?

Location: E. Tenn | They break down the same amount the same amount... about 18". I asked James about that when he still had the company. As much as I like the 9', I'd love to have a couple of 10's , but can't transport or store anything longer than 8' broken down.
I don't know how well they'd go over, but I'd buy a 2 pc. 10', if they were available. |

| You hit on the head for length broken down. I actually picked up the 10'6" this year and absolutely love it. Getting deep and wide figure 8s is easy. Casts great, and I can manage the 9' storage so it's awesome. |

Location: Land of the Musky | Correct on all of the above I was going to try and make a 106 2pc but 99% of the musky guys do not like the break down 50:50 2pc musky rods even though those are used all of the time for surf fishing and do very well for huge fish. What do you guys think? I am still with TI/Vexan, just in the background helping with new product development now.
Thanks
James

Do you have this diagonal in an 8ft truck bed? And store it across your living room wall ?? |

In my opinion, the highest priority should be a rod >9' in the new lighter pro blanks.
I wouldn't make things overly complicated with three different lengths - that just makes things a hassle on your end and gives end users too many options. I personally prefer 10' - that is also the length of long rods in the SC and Chaos 20/20 lineups. A 9'6" or in the middle will also work great. If you replaced the old 9 model matrix with just a 10' XH and 10' XXH in pro style w/ the revo seat, that would be directly competitive with the best rods available. You could do those in standard line as well, but it's not unreasonable to expect customers to go to the higher line for the longest rods - Chaos and SC do not offer a 10' in their lower lines, for example.
As far as 2-piece vs. tele, I'd use either. I would rather have a 2 piece since it breaks down into a shorter length, but if the market is really resistant to that style, so be it. I'd rather have a tele that continues to be produced than a 2 piece that is discontinued after a couple years because no one is buying it. |

Location: Land of the Musky | Main issue with any rod with a shipping length over 8ft is it cost more than $200 to ship it unless its SpeeDees and that may not last much longer either.

Location: MN | That still allows for 9'6" if you can get it to telescope down to under 8 ft. Or just go 2 piece. |

Lol, it typically stays in the boat, 9' is the max I can safely store in the boat. When I need to put it in the vehicle, I drive an expedition so no problems there.
