Next season MuskieFIRST will be having many outings run by Steve Cady our Outings Chairmen.

For giggles we are going to have a contest. This contest will be just for fun and simple.

YOU DESIDE:

1)A $25 a team entry fee to be included in the outings to pay for prizes and extras.

2)Bring your old baits and winner takes all at each event.

Which would you prefer?

Vote, thats what America is all about.[;)]

1 vote for Cash! But maybe we can get a few baits here and there for big fish or smallest legal or something like that...

Again I stress the outings will be for fun.

Not $25.00 for one outing but $25.00 for a Muskie League in your area. 6-10 times during the summer with a get togther/Finals at the end.

Or

Just for bragging rights and everyone participating donates an unwanted /old / or in my case "broken cause it didn't catch nothin'"

Again this is more to get out and meet your fellow anglers and create fellowship among us and not so much a competition. Tournaments are for the serious competition. For you softball guys it will be like playing "D" or "E" ball.

Thanks guys for your feedback.

Cash for sure. We all have enough old stuff that we don't use without getting other people's rejects. Atleast when we buy something new, there is an optimism which hangs on to keep us using it just a little bit longer.

Why not try both? $25.00 for a summers worth of outings is very affordable and does not hurt anyones pocket book too bad. It also may tend to peak the interest for a few of the guys. As far as the baits go, one mans trash can be another mans treasure. LOL[] [] [] []

Something else is that we all can get one new bait of some sort. A great way to patronize our favorite stores and also, some of you who have access to these lures that are not on the market that I keep hearing about, salivating over, but not able to cast.
Rob
P.S. These could just be trades at a get together during the outing!

I like the combo idea, 25 bucks for the summer, and everyone bring a new bait for each outing.

$25 for the season is a deal! I don't really care if baits are part of the winnings or not; I am more interested in fishing with friends, and meeting new ones on the water at a MuskieFIRST event.

I will not be fishing the PMTT next year, so I'll have time to attend the events that are close enough. Looking forward to it already!

Ive been to all these outings and so far people have been pretty good has far has donating good quality baits. However looks like we will have some wisc people involved next year so I dont want a pot full of circle hooks so I vote cash!!! Also how about like softball a summer league and fall league,,,summer runs june through aug and fall runs sept through mid nov $25 entry for both and if somebody cant make one they can make the other,,these have been fun and it forces you to fish new water instead of going to your favorites,,I prefer though lakes less then 3000 acres because then you get to bump into other boats in the contest and more socializing takes place.

Hey why not have teams come in and then have am draw and pm draw for boat partners?

ie Smith and Sworrall are a team, they come to tourney and draw for boat partners pairs them with slammr and J Long(who incidentally are on 2 different teams)all fish caught in boat are credited equally to the teams represented by the boat partners. Smith or slammr catching a fish scores points equally for smith and sworall and for whoever and slammr. This might up the learning curve in the tourney and would definitely expose everyone to some new ideas and techniques and there would be little secret strategy and patterns would be more widely exposed.

I haven't fished one for 20 some years so I will not be offended if no one likes this idea. It just seems like it would be more fun and particularly useful to newer fisherman.

I like the idea of drawing for partners. each person put in 25$ and come and draw for partners. I don't know how many I can make and I don't want to mess up my partner []
