Just wondering if anyone out there knows if there are muskies in Tennessee? I was in a Bass Pro Shop store down there and I saw a muskie mounted on the wall and it said it was the Tennessee state record. I didn't think Muskies were native to that area. Does anyone out there know and if they are available down there, where do you go for them? Would you hit the Mississippi, or are there good lake anywhere. Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Ben- Dale Hollow is best known. However, from some previous research I did on TN muskies, you might try -> Great Falls Lake, Melton Hill Lake, Tellico Lake, Collins River*, Nolichucky River, Obed River (native Ohio River strain), Upper Caney Fork*

* if memory serves me right these were also native strains.

I've seen reports that there are some nice fish in Great Falls Lake, Collins River and Obed River.

The Tenneesse Wildlife Resources Agency should be able to provide additional insight on specific waters They have a active muskie stocking program and recently been stocking with Kentucky fingerlings. They were previously using fingerlings from Wisconsin, but seeing poor survival. You could contact them for more details -> http://www.state.tn.us/twra/

I hooked into a brute of a musky in kentucky lake once. It was on the kentucky side. Not sure what the population is in the lake but they are in there.
