I need help getting rid of SPAM!
This morning, I had 98 e-mail messages!
Only one message was from anyone I knew!
The rest were junk.
How do I stop these messages?
My server can't help, because the address that gets the messages isn't through them.
I assume there must be something I can download that will help.
And it has to be fairly simple, as I'm fairly dim when it comes to computers!
Can anyone help?
Thanks.

Switch to a hotmail account only! It worked extremely well for me!

Do a search on google for Bayesian spam filter. There are quite a few good filters available now. I have used the cloudmark for a while and it worked well.

Switch to mail.com. It's free -up to 10MB, it's easy and the only SPAM I get is from ToddM They do have some popups- but its not real annoying.

ZB and Mikes..
What kind of cost per month is Cloudmark's service. I too could be set for life with Viagra, Mortgage and Life Ins. quotes, and enlargement offers.

The best answer is to get a brand new internet provider and never email anyone or ever go on the www. <- abstinence is the only 100% safe method of spam/birth controll (this comes from a guy expecting his 5th child this spring)

I'm very pleased with Earthlink. No pop up ads, and all my fail is filtered. It is very user friendly.

Earthlink is pretty good for Pop up blocking and Spam. i still get some spam but almost all is caught by the filter when set on Medium. If set on High all e-mail is screened and only e-mail you allow via the address comes through. All screened mail is kept in two folders, One is the suspect mail where a friends e-mail may end up if not in your address book, the other is the Known Spam folder, where obvious spam goes straight to. If on the off chance something makes it through to you, you can block that address from ever being recieved by you.
