I work at Gander Mountain and have had time to go over both. The Atlantis actually has a better screen (tv) than the Aquavu (projection), but the Atlantis points down while the Aquavu shoots horizontal. The Atlantis does come in at around 199.99, so with a little rigging one could get it to shoot horizontal just like the Aquavu.
That being said, the OVS camera by Marcum Tackle is better than the previous two. The 400 series retails for about 379.99 and has the tv monitor and a very handy carrying system similar to Marcum's LX-3 flasher unit. The 500 series retails for around 499.99 and offers on-screen water temp and camera direction, same as the upper end Aquavu. I'm not sponsored by any of the above companies, just my thoughts.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Take a hard look at the MarCum 560 for sure. The MarCum camera has a special lens lighting system that reduces particulate reflection and allows for a good image when others would be near useless. The lens also rotates 360 degrees using a remote control. The carrying case is top shelf, as are the batteries and all the accessories. Here is a link! http://www.marcumcustomerservice.com/products/ovs/vs560.aspx The 460 will do as good a job, just has a few less bells and whistles. | |

Location: Oshkosh,WI | I have extensive use with a lot of cameras. I can say that the marcum line has treated me the best out of all of them. The camera is more compact, a lot more rugged, It has a very nice carrying case, An automatic battery charger built into the camera, adjustable vertical hold, brightness, and contrast (VERY IMORTANT), and the best design for turning the camera while under the water. Unlike all the other brands on the market, you can control which way the camera points by touching a button on the screen. Totally awesome feature. Everything listed is what the Marcum line has for features that no one else has. When it comes time to clarity of cameras and monitors, all of them are about the same. As far as price goes, feature to feature over other brands the Marcum will beat any price. I have found a winner in underwater cameras, I have a Marcum VS400 that is only a few weeks old if you are interested....You can E-Mail me at [email protected].
