Location: Chicago, Beverly | There have been several changes with Grandma's. Original's seem like solid plastic, made by Jake Satonica before he sold Grandma's to Magna Strike (I think). The Magna Strike ones were hollow, many had rattles. They were available in 6" and 9" straight models and a 7 1/2" jointed model. I think the originals were only 9".. Magna Strike went out of business in the 90's. Jake satonica got together with Pete Mania and started making Grandma's under the Jake name. They are still available in 6", 8" and 10" with a 13" said to be on the way sometime this year. From what I understand, Jake got the rights to the Grandma name again, parted with Pete and started making Grandma's again in 6", 7 1/2"(straight), 9" and very limited runs of the 7 1/2 jointed. Each version seems a little different, like little variations on the bills, etc.. My info is second hand so might not be perfect. |
