Just curious as to how often everyone replaces their leaders. I use the Stealth flurocarbon ones and just as a preventative measure seem to totally replace them every few years. I guess I just get uneasy when they start getting nicked up.

More like every month or two depending on how much I’m fishing or how well I’m doing.

often, the leader material itself is dirt cheap...as soon as there is any nick, could be one fish.. I just cut off the swivel remove the the stay-loc snap and grab other pre-made with swivel attached (stay-loc can be added or changed anytime)...takes me about 15 minutes to make a dozen...no need to chance it.

It's pretty easy to visually check the quality of flouro or steel, though I'll still replace them every few months with hard use. I replace the Stay Loc snaps quite often.

Snaps worry me more than the leader itself.
