I was looking at my wall of baits and I definitely have a lot of popular big name lures that many of you have and throw on a regular basis. But I also have some lesser-known or less talked about lures that I absolutely love!

It got me thinking, what are some of your Under Rated lures others should check out?
They can be from a smaller lure manufacturer or a more well known but be product line/ style that isn’t their most popular or purchashed......I have no ties to any manufacturers, just my opinions......

Here are 6 that I identified on my wall in no particular order...
1. Bondy Royal Orba- popular manufacturer, but I don’t here or see many talk of this one! By far my favorite of the Bondy line! Tail action is incredible and blades make the whole thing unique to me
2. Sasquatch Bucktails- If you have never visited their website and love experimenting with unique colors, go check these out... I have 4-5 of them and just love em’
3. Big Tooth Tackle Straight Wire Spinnerbait- Super Weedless!
4. Hawg Seekers X Hawgs- can straight retrieve, twitch or troll it... metal lip, squirrelly tails and good action
5. Kodak Round Nose Glider from Chaos Tackle- can work it softly or very aggressively, some jerks take time to work right, this one always looks good to me no matter what I do
6. Naze Tin Head- My favorite slow moving top water

Anybody else like any of the above, or what I would call under appreciated lures?

Or what are some of yours?

If I had to go with just one of the above....hmm tough call, but I will go with the Royal Orba! Everytime i throw that bait, i look at the action and think... how can i not catch a fish with that every time out!!

I think this could be an interesting topic, curious to see where it will go....

Thanks a lot dward. Now I suppose I am going to buy 100 dollars worth of bucktails from Sasquatch. Last thing I need.

Haha, seriously though. They look like a good and decent priced bucktail. I have never visited the site and plan on putting an order in soon.

Also, I really like the Royal Orba's. I picked one up last early fall time frame and I didn't use it a lot but when I put it on I definitely got some fish to come out of hiding.

I see everyone talk about dussa's and dawgs but not often the double dawg. It' has a more hang than a dog but less than a dussa. I've had one of these lures turned to ground beef in an afternoon of fishing and it produced my PB the same day. Walleye color

I never see anyone selling them on the musky FB pages, suggest or even mention them recently.
Maybe it's just me

I don't on my phone but he has a FB page. He has several styles of crankbaits and gliders. The original bait called a shadillac which is not to be confused with the awesome bait from chaos, two totally different baits.

I don't think he makes them anymore but hawaiisbest60 made.some.nice stuff I got on ebay 18 years.ago and the original Slammer twitch bait, narrow body and long rounded lip, old timers know what I am talking about there.

The other day I was watching a couple videos of two dudes in kayaks that were catching muskies in some heavy slop on bass size frogs. Hmm. Kdawg

9" and 11" bull shad- A large handmade resin swimbait, swims great and made by a great fella. Mainly used to target trophy bass, but works great for muskies too

Globes- I feel like they don't get thrown enough, seems like everyone throws tail-rotating topwaters instead. But globes have a different sound and great chirp/clank

Also, running a blade in front of paddle tail swimbaits. Specifically, an Indiana blade in front of a shadzilla. Don't know why it works so well, but it's gotten fish that have ignored the plain swimbait, and been lethargic on bucktails.

spinnerbaits. i still talk to alot of people who have never thrown a spinnerbait for muskies. same goes i suppose for jigs. i honestly have had good luck on any of the "upsized" bassy kind of stuff. Need to make myself a giant senko lol.

Saw a story a number of years ago where Joe Bucher talked about using a "whacky" rigged worm for musky in early season reeds/weeds. He did not use a leader to help keep the action. Toss it in the reeds, and work it like he did a worm for bass.

Johnson Silver Minnow/Doctor weedless spoon both good.
But biggest one for me would be the Big Joe.
https://teamrhinooutdoors.com/products/musky-innovations-live-action...
These were out long before Bulldawgs or Medussa's but still few guys use them.
They are fantastic especially on waters that see a lot of other rubber baits.
I have used these for over 30 years and have put a ton of fish in the boat on them.
Great cold front bait also.

Three come to mind .... Husky Jerks, jigs and plastics, and Johnson weedless spoons. Husky jerks particularly in the spring, jigs and plastics all year long and Johnson weedless spoon in the spring.

Must be a carry over from my bass fishing days but I am fond of spinner baits. The Big Tooth single hook was 'the' bait on Wabigoon during fall of 2019. Carried over into 2020. June 2020 I had a friend in the front seat that had caught bass but never caught a musky so confidence was an issue. We were working a shoreline in Northern Wisconsin and had another group of musky anglers working the same shoreline headed in our direction. I gave them a wide berth and moved into a section that had some decent wood. My friend boated a 45" fish on a Big Tooth. As we were netting the fish the other boat came back and wanted to know if we caught the 'big one'. Apparently they had moved that fish 15 minutes before we got there. We boated two fish that day on blades 200 yards apart. Big tooth and modified slop master.

Seems like I see many of the same boats throwing the same baits so the N. WI lakes so I make it a point to tie on something different.

I caught a 50.5 incher sight fishing with a 6 inch senko. No need to upsize too far!

Big Chimneys are a line of crankbaits and jerkbaits made by Tim Callison in Big Chimney, WV. They are rather regular looking, but they just catch fish. Great action. I will post pictures at some point. He doesn't make many now I dont think, but you may be able to contact him on Facebook. Good dude.

Guides choice had about 7 or 8 on their shelf for long time. Nobody knew what they were no hype worship so they sat. They brought them to the musky shows. I bought one, used it and bought him out of them. Nobody makes baits quite like he does. Everyone else likes follow the leader traditional.

TODD M. You are correct, they just catch fish. Very good action and wobble. Every now and then he will sell a batch of them. He has a sensational jerkbait he calls the chubby. It is a fast side to side with a lot of belly roll and flash. I suggest you get one if you can get your hands on one. Of course he makes some nice cranks as well, but again he does not make them often or in big batches. I am sure he would not mind if someone contacted him. Tim Callison is his name. I cannot even keep up anymore with the bait makers we have here in WV. There are so many of them and most of the baits are great quality. Timmy is an old school dude in the same lineage with Mr. CObb and Mr. Crane but as I said, there are a lot of new guys too.

I have the chubby and his floating glider with the diagonal cuts in the side. My favorite is the EZ riser crank but I have a small deep river and two styles of the shadillac, shallow and deeper.

i love the Deep Invader, too bad it fell from grace and forgotten ... the only flaw is the small size, in my opinion if Brad had made it as big as the shallow Invader magnum it would have been the top
