| Is it safe to use Bass Pro motor oil for $10/gal. vs. the Evinrude X100 at $50/gal. in my Evinrude E Tex 150?? I know Evinrude would say NO and the motor would not be covered, but the warranty is expired anyway. |

Location: Duluth | Any major brand should be fine.Johnson Evinrude 2 stroke synthetic blend is what you should put in if you're looking to save a dollar. Quicksilver synthetic blend should be fine. I just wouldnt go digging in the basement for oil.

Amsoil HP will work on the Lean setting for your motor as an alternative to the XD100. If you go with other oils, you may want to switch back to a normal setting, which you would be good to go.
