Subject: Custom Rod Handle?

Hello,
I have a Gloomis and I love the stick but hate the handle. I was wondering if anyone could recommend someone to customize the thing for me with a new handle? In the chicagoland or southeastern wisconsin areas would be prefered.
Thanks
Kly

What is it you hate about the handle?? Would this include replacing the reel seat...moving forward, backwad or just putting on a different style? Is a bother to disassemble the handle section and redo it taking care not to damage the blank but I have done it many times.

The handle is simply too small. The rod is actually a mag bass rod, a flippin stick I suppose. So it does not have a very big handle. It is a great small bait and bucktail rod. I would like a handle that would be longer, for more leverage and wider so it will fit better in my hand and sit on my forearm. I would do it myself, but I do not want to mess up the rod. I have done some handles in the past and they turned out fine, but I would just feel better spending the money and having it done right the first time.

Give Brett at Thorne Bros. a call in Minneapolis.
They make exellent custom rods and have altered some handles on some of my other rods in the past.
