| I've had two of these blow out the back hooks on hookset. The last one was on a 30" somethingish northern and that was kind of scary thinking that it could have been something special. I post not so much to bang Windels, but to ask if anyone knows of another hard plastic minnow bait that has through-wire. The Bomber mag A doesn't have it either, though I haven't blown one of them up yet, just busted lips. If any lure makers are out there, I'd love something like this but much larger. If this lure already exist somewhere, please let me know. Thanks |

Sorry I don't know of any that have through wire construction, but I throw the Long A a LOT. I have never had any problems with these baits, and one I have caught over 30 fish on. That one just got a hole in the plastic from a tooth, but that was easily fixed, and the bait is still running strong. Good luck finding the bait.
Good Lungen,

Location: Eagan, MN | I've never used the shallow snack, but I bought a couple of the deep snacks about ten years ago. They both broke. One was at least partially my fault as I knocked it pretty hard against the side of the boat in very cold water. The other was mid-season and all I did was slap it against the water to get a weed off. I seem to recall one broke in half, and the other broke at the lip. I don't know if the design has changed since then, but the lack of durability really surprised me. I wasn't being any harder on them than a muskie would. Windel's Harrassers are great bucktails. I don't know why his cranks seem so flimsy.
I love the Bomber Mag Long A. Great on the twitch, jerk or straight crank. I've had no durability issues with them. One of the most overlooked cranks on the market.

Location: north central wisconsin | I actually really like Windels Musky Snacks in the shallow model. I got a 46.5"er on one last spring, and several other small(mostly pike and walleyes) fish. It seems as well built as many of the other injected mold baits. I've had many of them fail over time. it is too bad that they do, but all are unique and worth continued tossing!!! |

Location: Muskegon Michigan | The Windels Musky snack is the same minnow bait that you can buy from Janns Netcraft for 2.25 each. Also Stamina.com and Barlowstackle.com Ihav used the deep version with very good luck on Big Pike. Kingfisher |
