A buddy of mine emailed me this picture. Said he found in a MN fishing forum.

49" 32lb muskie caught on Upper Red Lake in MN. I didnt know there were muskies in there. So is there a population or is there a mixup here?

I checked the Forum. The narrative says it was caught on French Lake. Don't know why it was posted in Upper Red Lake Forum. I have read that there are muskies in URL, though don't know if that is true.

Nice fish regardless of where he caught it.

URL is one of the best pike lakes in MN, lots of 40"+ fish are taken out of there every year. It would be tough for muskies to get a foot hold there and if they are there I doubt they are in any numbers.
