I was at the Wausau show last year. Last group event I attended in 2020 I was there Friday afternoon and it was crowded, at least around some booths. Can't imagine they would feel comfortable with that this year. Wausau area has been hit hard, with medical facilities feeling the pinch. I agree with Steve. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I'm quite serious about it. The airline industry claims the inside of an airplane puts folks less at risk than nearly any other enclosed environment. Air make-up systems are not in place in most show venues. I'm thinking a flight to Chicago is probably safer than an hour in Wal Mart.

I see you apparently think this is my opinion on how folks should or should not behave. Nope, it's dealing with the reality of the current governmental structure in this State. If the show is allowed, fine, I personally have no issue with that at all. I won't go unless I have had both shots (which looks possible) because if I get this disease, my chances of survival are near nil. I'll behave as I want to and everyone else has the same choice IF the officials in charge allow the show. If they don't there are no decisions to make.
One thing I can tell you is that if there's a bug around during a show, a LOT of exhibitors get it. Half the show had a cold last January and I got it big time, was sick for two weeks. If that was covid, I'd probably be gone.
I don't care what you do, your decisions are yours. Watch the current session of the State legislature for a glimpse at the future temperature on this issue. |

Location: Freedom, WI | At the Wausau show a few years ago some sort of bug/flu/whatever was caught by at least a dozen vendors that I know of(me one of them). We all started feeling it about the same time was sick for about 2 weeks myself. Could have been one guy, you do not know who. |

Does not surprise me. I have been to the Wausau show a couple times and it is packed and people don't give you any personal space at all. I was trying buy a new bait at last year's show and some clown was reaching over my shoulder trying to get at the baits. I accidentally stepped on his instep in moving to where I could pay for it. He knew he had crowded me and didn't even say anything, just kind of hopped on one foot for a little while. Maybe that will be one benefit of this pandemic, people will respect others personal space.
And Steve is right, air lines control the air flow in their planes and with COVID they have cranked it up to where it was in the old days where people smoked on planes. In the early 70s half the plane could be smoking and yet there was no cloud or even much smell because of the air flow. |

Good Idea, but... I think most Muskie People are about done with their Fishing season in the Fall and wouldn't be attending/buying much Muskie gear... except for the hard core guys that buy the latest "HOT" lures and have 20-30 Rod and Real combos ! Haa,haha..
Plus,... the Fall is when Muskie fishing is AWSOME !
Going indoors to shop alongside Smelly Fishermen doesn't seem like a better option than Chasing after 50inchers and Clarence . Or what ever you call that Big AZZ Fish.

Actually, I was thinking about that and looking at how many musky lakes are within a 2 drive of Wausau. Could fish in the morning, hit the show and still have time to be back on the lake before dusk. |

| Living here I know this,,,if I was a vendor,lures,tackle etc,,I would make it a priority to get into the Minnesota sports show and musky expo it will have been two straight years since we've had a show and people will be itching to see the custom stuff. Crowds will be huge.

Our September M. I. Club meeting is the least attended meeting of the year and our Meetings are on Wednesdays. Used to be August but we don't have an August meeting anymore for that reason.

| Ok, read the facebook post. Does this mean the group that had organized the Wausau Show canceled the event but that the venue management group is doing this Musky Bash in it's place, with seminars and some vendors? |

Location: oswego, il | I had a nice long conversation with one of the promotors of this show today. This is a revamped (he liked my term here) version of the Wausau Musky Show to accommodate the covid situation. The show is widened and spread out to create more space. There will also be a voluntary temp check and masks are encouraged not mandatory.
The reason for the revamp is this is not the Wausau Musky Show moving forward. It was felt that the revamped version of this event needed a different name. The regular show will return in 2022. The even better news is the Musky Bash will continue on in Lacrosse starting in 2022. |

4ft waves 37 degree water temps 25mph winds on ice all over the decks and standing casting in November on leech,,nothing in muskie fishing can stop us including a pandemic.
