For anyone purchasing or wanting to know a little more about on-board battery chargers--the Jan.,2004 issue of BASS@ WALLEYE BOATS magazine has a good article along with comparison tests of 7 different models.

Last year at the Madison Fishing Expo, I talked to the Reps at the Batteries Plus Booth. They had a solar powered trickle charger which would be mounted to the boat. Mr. ghoti, does this article discuss these kinds of chargers?
Does anyone reading this post have experience with the on board solar chargers?

Steve, no on the solar stuff, but if you look at any of the specs on them, the amp output is pretty small, and that is assuming full sunlight, so the practicality and cost effectiveness is questionable. Besides, your "Northern Lights" won't do much charging either.
