Let Bret's father's passing serve as a reminder to us all how fragile our time on this earth is. I will miss his "down home" wise cracks, good or bad, on the Packer Post Game Shows.
For each of us, don't sweat the little things, they just don't matter.
Live every day as if it is going to be your last.
Maximize your relationships with all those in your sphere of influence.
Make a difference in someone's life!
Merry Christmas and the most blessed of New Year's to all of us!!

Wow, I didn't think that I could be so serious for so long!

Mr SVL,

Thanks for reminding us that the really important things are friends and family. Life is short, and very fragile, too.

My prayers go out to the family. It must be a very difficult thing to be in the spotlight as much as they are during this tough time.

What an amazing person Brett is. I lost my dad at 18, and couldn't even think about working the day after. And to come up with the performance he gave last night, proved how truly special he is. I suspect his father was looking down on him last night, and was very proud.

This is the perfect example of how life throws you curves. You can either curl up and die yourself or face the challenge and stand up for the mission at hand. Sometimes life Sucks! The strong realize that there is a light on the other side. Make the best of what you have around you and then some. Just when things seem the worst the best is right around the corner you just have to be patient.
Life in general is much like musky fishing...Many hours or days are spent plugging along...then all the sudden pandemonium...either great accomplishment or defeat. Then we shake it off and go at it again, even harder.
Not to get to poetic but the performance by Brett was very moving and a great testemonial to the person/competitor he is and something we can all learn from. My prayer's are with the family thru this tough time.

R.G.,

Well, I think we all needed to hear that, and it was poetic, nothing wrong with that. Well accepted.

We all have to strap down at some time and deal with life. I certainly had to tonight.

It is just like musky fishing.

So thanks for you're thoughts on it. I'm right there with you.
