Location: oswego, il | My ISP is still down, found another computer to post but we got out last saturday. Took us 4 boat launches to find an open one and I caught a 44" pike for the effort. It was grossly fat and looked just like the ones you see in ireland. I hope to have the pictures before too long. We also got an 18" bass, both fish were caught on lures with weeds on them. |

| WTG on the pike, Todd. That is not a so-so fish! Did you get it trolling? Obviously, you were not speed trolling, though. |

Location: oswego, il | Shep, we did get it trolling. It was too cold with the wind chill to cast, everything was freezing up and my dad's hands and feet don't stay warm easily, years of smoking did that. We did not buy suckers becuase after seeing a frozen lake and two frozen launches we thought we just drove 3.5hours for nothing. There were two other boats out there, one drifting suckers, the other jigging, nobody was casting. I am hoping the lake is till open next saturday, going to chance it one more time. |

Location: Illinois | A 44 inch pike. WOW! That is huge for these parts. I would bet that is the biggest pike in the lake. That is the type of bonus fish you will remember the rest of your life. Congratulations on a great catch. hj |

Location: Chicago, Beverly | Get him on Tippy? That's a very nice fish. My brother and I were fishing the Barbee chain and he had a pike about 26" blow up on a lure this year. We have had a couple Pike chase baits but only this one actually grab the bait. Saw one last year that must have been close in size to yours. It hit at least 3 different baits but we could never get a solid hook up. Actually thought I had it on twice myself but both times the bait was let go..I say let go because if he threw it that would mean I had hooks in him...Despite a couple good hooksets I don't think he was hooked.. |
