Need info. Going up to Clayton to fish the Larry in October. If I cross the Canadian border to 40 acre shoals will the Ca authorities arrest us? Have a passport and ca license.

Border is closed man. Stay away unless something changes.

Not only can you get arrested you could say goodbye to your boat,.gear and a lifetime ban for going back. Heard it happened to a cabin owner on lotw.

Howdy,

I know many of the LSC guides are crossing daily into Canada waters to fish. Too risky for my blood, but people are doing it. I'm actually surprised the Canadian authorities haven't made an example of someone by now.

My advice, don't do it.

Take care,

I heard a month ago they almost did. Escorted out of the country and threatened with all sorts of not fun stuff.

Pulled over and brought to a local marina for a long lecture.

I’ll take a pass on that risk also

The area between Gan and Kingston is heavily patrolled and the Shiprider boat has personal from both countries and jurisdiction on both sides of the border. You won't outrun it.

Just curious, not having fished boundary waters, do graph's navigational chart show borders?

Yes. My chip for Rainy clearly shows the border. But I would never take that as the gospel for where the line is. I always stay well on the United States side of the line.

Thanks. Traveled the length of Rainy one day with my sister and her husband on their big tritoon but when I checked the graph was more concerned about the waypoints to navigate around hazards, never thought to look for the border. We stayed well on the U.S. as well.

Thanks to all. Maybe we'll just go to Chautauqua and not worry about the border. Thanks again.
