Needs some help/advice. First off I'm a caster that on occasion will troll around while eating lunch and in the fall i will drag a sucker around also. What I'm looking for is a rod that I can use for both suckers and trolling. I think it should be a glass rod. I have a couple of rods like this now that didn't cost much and had one break in half just before we netted a nice 44.5 incher. Don't wanna break the bank on a couple of rods that don't get used much, but how about some suggestions.

Thanks
Brian

chaos tackle assault stick trolling rods 8' long. you won't find a better trolling or live bait rod than these.

A great option might be the Denali Bottom Feeder 8' Heavy. Has the nice large stainless guides, and the foregrip really allows tons of leverage. Really really like mine, mostly using it for large trolling baits. Good price too. I'm sure you already know, but a combo sucker/trolling rod will likely have to have a bit more power/backbone than an all-round trolling rod, like a TDR. Which is totally fine if you're running larger cranks or blades trolling, but just something to think about if you like trolling small baits.

BPS power plus boat rod. The two heaviest actions will work. Under 30 bucks with big stainless guides.

Take a look at some of those big catfish rods. Even the top of the line catfish rods are usually under a 100 bucks, and they are designed to take a beating, which sucker fishing and trolling big baits in below freezing temperatures do to rods. Kdawg
