Ok, I'm serious about going somewhere and so is Mike Hulbert.

Who's in for a trip between X-mas and New Years??

Single guys?? where are you? family fellas welcome, but I understand it is the holidays.

last hoorah to stick a fatty before the year ends.

Top candidates:

Cave Run-Kentucky
Kincaid-Illinois
Pomme D'Terre-Missouri

I'd like to go to Cave, Shep says Kincaid, Cady says Pomme

what say you????

Like Greg said, I am pretty much in.

Lets get together and land some christmas piggies!

So, talk to the wifes, girlfriends, or whoever you have to talk to. Let's see if we can get a few guys around.

KY or IL has my votes.

I would be in for something if I can work it out with the ex, kids, girlfriend, etc. However, I was planning on being in WI around New Years. It would have to be 12/27, 12/28, 12/29, or 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6. I would drive with someone from Chicago, or meet you down south someplace with all my gear ready to jump on your boat and fish.

Hell, I'm moving back to Minneapolis on December 29th but I'm in! I have a week before I start my new job. Kinkaid would be good for me if I can slut in someones boat? My boat has been stored for a week now.

MuskyBoy, I live in the Chicago area and would split gas with you if you're going?

Let me know....

I would be in if the dates work for me. I am still pissed I missed the chance to fish with Mike Hulbert last weekend due to family obligations.

Where are we going???????

I could possibly make 26th-27th. Have to be back on the 28th to pick up my new Lab puppy. I say Kincaid, as I've never been there. Mizzou is probably too far, but the Cave could be a possible.

OK,

I just heard from Sunshine, and he has clearance for the 26th-27th. Two day deal almost eliminates the Cave for us.

Greg and the others, does Kincaid work for you? KLY, we will probably be in a 1900 Lund ProV, and there will be room, unless you hook up with Greg or somebody else.

Koepp, E, Boy, KLY, mikie, MHulbert, tommyv, MarkH, PK? Anybody else? Shall it be Kincaid for the 1st Annual MF X-mas Last Chance Muskie Hunt?

You gotta work the day after X-mas? ROFL!

OK, so we should decide between Shelbyville and Kincaid. I guess the shorter distance makes Shelby a better choice for me. Sunshine is up for that, too.

Greg, this is your idea originally. What do you say? ToddM, MHulbert, MarkH, PK, what do you guys think? Musky Fever. Your thoughts?

EEeee, I'll be in Fondy for X-mas so if you wanna ride together that may be a possibility?

My vote is for Shelbyville.

Shep/Greg,

I was waiting to see what dates and what water...Then I'll see if I can make it work. I have no preference, have never fished either one.

Anyone have an idea about lodging fees, license fees, etc. or is this more of a "we'll figure it out when we get there" trip..:) I love those they're always fun...

With this up comming weather we will need tip-ups not boats. 7 degrees tonight with calm winds=locked up water.

This might be wishfull thinking but I am still pumped for trying to get out.

My boat is winterized but I will break it out for one more run !!!

Damn cold here in suburban Chicago, so hopefully it warms up by the end of the month. This has the makings of a great annual event. I hope I can make the dates work and join you, and get my money's worth out of this IL license I have for bass fishing!

ok, I'm back. Sorry about that but was away for three days at training for the upcoming boat shows.

The following dates are for when I can fish, but all you folks can stay longer of course.

I get back from N.Y. sat afternoon Dec.27th, so would travel that night.
I would have to drive back on thurs Jan1, New years day. (we are moving boats into the Rice Lake mall on friday for our show Jan 2-11)

This would give me 3 solid hard-core days to fish, with some "light duty" also.

Shelbyville is fine..never been to Kincaid or Shelbyville.
Which one is the farthest south??

I'll check some stuff out and see what i come up with.

The Spillway Motel
Route 16 East, Shelbyville, 800.845.0414

Just talked to this guy, he said there is a discount for more than 4 rooms and staying more than 3 days.....vacancy available as of now.

2 full size beds.....$34+tax
2 queen size beds.......$38+tax
(never did ask if it was per person or room, but would think it's per room)

lodging seems cheap enough for me.

looking at weather.com and mapquest.com Shelbyville is about 2 hrs or so further north than Kincaid.

The 10 day weather outlook is a smidge warmer for Kincaid also.

I'll drive 2 more hours for a slob............what lake has the best chances.....Shelbyville or Kincaid??

will have to explore lodging options for Kincaid if we decide to go there.
