What wood baits would you like to see made out of hard abs plastic?

And what wood or plastic baits would you like to see with soft plastic tails?

Glidebaits for sure. Most wood baits have good epoxy on them and hold up pretty good. If not I know some good panters like xllund, stan durst and mksbass.

Agree! Wood all the way! Except in the morning when you have to stroll thru the cabin to the can. Sorry.

I would be willing to play with a abs suick but really doubt that I would reach for the plastic before the good old reliable wood fellers. I would have to agree with Ranger on the NONE. The wood is what gives some of these baits there fish catching triggers/wobbles.

A squirrely suick though---that intrigues me!!

I can think of some plastic baits I wouldn't mind seeing in wood..omly one bait really, that I'd like to see in plastic. That Sleight Jerk Bait, if they could get the action just as good as my best one..each bait was hand made so the action in each varies just slightly, some run deeper, some have more side to side action, some almost none..but this one I've got...to have it in plastic working like it does.. As for squirrley baits...not sure, my squirrley Burt I hate, my shallow Invader I love. Not sure if I'd want to have something else...jointed believer?

none, each style has its use and I would never want to quit tinkering with wooden baits and use only plastic baits. I prefer wooden baits most of the time, apart from certain brands of crankbaits

Uh, correct me if I'm wrong but the Magic Maker "is" ABS plastic or some derivitive. That's one reason it remains consistant once tank tested.

Hollow Plastic or Solid Plastic???? Big difference if you ask me.

I'll take ANY wood lure in SOLID plastic if it is done right. No compromise to the action achieve with wood, yet huge gains in durability and consistency.

Those that love the character of wood lures each have their own PREFERED action. However, they then need to buy 20 lures to find one with THEIR preferred action (consistency factor). Lastly, once they find a wood lure to their liking... it won't last long before it changes on them and is no longer that "special" lure (durability factor). Thus the process starts all over. Great process for the lure manufacturer (sells more lures) but not so good for the fisherman (accumulates a pile of "junk" lures).

As for lures with soft plastic tails.... WHY would you do that (heh heh)????

Thanks for the clarification. I must not have listened well when Ben described the process to me last year. (old timer's disease)

I'd like to see a Reef Hawg in a solid plastic.  I like the action and durability of the Jerkos.  I'd just like to see what a lure like that would be like in an even better shape design(Reef Hawg-like).

I'd like to see a wooden bulldawg.............

Wood, because the marks fish leave in them are cooler! More bragging rights. HAHA
