Location: Minneapolis, MN | There was a discussion on this board not long ago about the value of MI membership, especially if you don't have a local chapter you care for. I'm not here to preach the gospel of Muskies, Inc. or bestow the virtues of CPR or anything else that the non-member's may think MI is all about. I am here to leak to the non-members a little info about an upcoming promotion that you might find attractive. At the Chicago Muskie Show the International Membership Committee will launch a new member promotion like no other ever done before. A pre-show mailer will be going out soon detailing the incentives of this promotion. Here's the condensed version;
- 20% Off at Thorne Bros.
- 10% Off at Rollie & Hellen's
- 10% Off at Pastikas
- 10% Off Musky Maina Merchandise
- $10.00 Gift Card from Gander Mountain
- (2) Towels from Abu Garcia
- 75yrd Spool of 100# Line from Trilene
- Commemorative 15th Anniversary Issue of Musky Hunter
- Promotional Offer From Musky Innovations
When you add up the savings from the retailers and the free stuff, you will be getting more back then you are giving for a one year membership. This is virtually a no-risk opportunity to give Muskies, Inc. a try, thanks to our generous partners above. Even if you don't have a local chapter your membership will make a difference. As we grow the organization we will have a stronger voice and more available resources to make a difference. Consider making one of the local MI chapter booths your first stop at the show. www.muskiesinc.org

Location: Chicago, Beverly | Question Luke, I know the two Muskie Inc groups that will be there are Southside and Chicagoland I think. Will one still be able to get this proposed deal at the show but join a different group then the two in attendence? |

Chicagoland, Fox River Valley, South Side Muskie Hawks and the International will all have booths at the show. You can sign up at any booth. You can pick any chapter to affiliate with when you complete your membership application or you can elect no chapter affiliation at all if you prefer. This promotion is not limited to membership in the Chicagoland area. You can sign up at this show for any chapter in the country if you are in from out of town. Joe Mellott

Location: IL | 20% off at Thorne Bros?
What are the details of the store discounts?? |

Location: Minneapolis, MN | Margins are very low on electronics, reels and other stuff as you are probably aware. Therefore, discounts at retailers are limited to lures and perhaps a couple other items they may include in the promo. The discounts are only available on merchandise you purchase at the show. |

| I just joined and so now you come up with the added incentives! Do some of these discounts apply for all MI members? |

Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | Steve, the people I have met and became friends with are reason enought to join for me. I joined three years ago and still enjoy the meetings and outings.
The lunge log is another great incentive for those who join. The can look up any active member and see what they have been catching and on what, also where and when. Most of the members are helpfull to all and will go out of there way to steer someone in the correct direction.
I have been very honest and helpfull to lots of people who ask. Big O for example: I would bend over backwards to help him and his kids get on fish.
Tuffy and Tuffy1 both members of my club and I never held anything back from them when they asked. Then there is Shep..... I could go on with lots of different names but you get my point.
Muskies Inc members are like a team, we fish and share info about different lakes and patterns. We all learn from each other. Thats what Muskies Inc is to me and could be to you.
Not all members are like some of us but you can choose your crowd.
Muskies Inc is for everyone !!!
Its a no brainer !!! |

Location: oswego, il | Schuler, join that club out by you. You will benefit greatly. I joined FRV, man what a great club with great people in it. Meetings are a blast and everybody is friendly.
Mr. Worrall, if FRV welcomes me in with open arms(at least they have not stepped up and asked me to leave) it's worth being a part of right? |

Location: Minneapolis, MN | I'll try to answer the questions in previous posts.... The discounts are only available to new members who sign up at the show. The discounts and freebee's are only availble during the show. No other offers can be combined from MI programs or retailer discounts. This offer is not available to current MI members. However, as stated earlier, Thorne Bros does offer a 10% discount to all MI members. There are many other programs in the works to help improve the benefits to current members. This particular promotion is designed to stimulate membership growth and help us reach our goal of 10,000 members by 2005. Hope this helps. |

| Steve,
That's very interesting. I also belong to FRV. Although I am not a model member, I do go to some of the meetings. As a matter of fact I went and paid to hear you speak a few years ago and you were very good. I would think in your line of bussiness that part of your income is due to Muskie Inc members. In my opinion that alone would be reason to be a member. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Mike, Great pitch, sir. I wish I was a bit closer to your club, the Milwaukee Chapter meetings are terriffic. Backlash, I donate the proceeds from all Muskie Inc talks I do back to an active club project. For example, overt the last couple winters I donated several speaker fees to the Milwaukee Chapter Pewaukee Telemetry study. I will rejoin at the Chicago Show. |

Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | I too will be joining at the show, but really feel cheated out of many of the benefits of MI because I don't have a chapter in my area (tis the reason I am not a member now). It seems a bit strange that there would not be a Rhinelander or Wausau chapter to this organization. |

| Then there is Shep??? Mike, are you giving me some ShadyShat?
I have to confess that my membership lasped this summer, and I just now got it reinstated.
I agree with most everything the Extreme One said. Most of the guys in our chapter are stnd up dudes. There are a couple I consider sponges(take info, give none), but they are the exception. I have made several very good friends in our chapter, and have learned alot through the speakers. The annual Ice Fisheree is a blast, as is the banquet. |

Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | Shady Shat? Is this some kind of new lingo? I think it can go places where other lingo can't.
Shep--- I just thought I would leave it like that for people to wonder.
You are one of the good guys at the meetings. I am glad you joined back up. Se you next week.
