Location: Belgium | do you have some baits that for some reason don't seem to produce one year while they were the hot thing the year before? I have caught a bunch of fish on several reef hawgs last year and this year I just can't get a fish to bite on a reef hawg. I don't know why but it's the truth. |

Location: Stevens Point, Wi. | This usually happens to me when, because of a particular hot bait, I go purchase a dozen more of various colors and sizes over the winter. This just about guarentees I won't get a single look the following year. I think the tackle makers have a deal going with the fish. |

Location: Chicago, Beverly | I have some jerk baits that are like that. Went about four years constantly getting or seeing fish chase the baits. Then one day...BOOM!! Nothing. No follows, no fish hitting them, nothing. Plus side this year that bait seemed like it started working again. |

Location: In the slop! | I notice this alot. On my second trip to LOTW, a Cisco kid topper was the only bait that got looked at. So, like Ghoti said, I stalked up! Have not even had a follow on one since, (that was 98). Every year it seems like there is one hot bait for me, just have to figure out what that is. Although my favorite jerk baits are easily the most consistant. |

Location: oswego, il | I notice it some too. More casting than I do trolling though. For some reson trolling baits stay more consistent for me which is probably due to the fact I am trolling off the weedline. I think more of the variables affect my casting from year to year like weed grwoth changes, water clarity, temperature, ect and may make some lures more productive than others.
