Was anyone out on the soft water that remains? How'd you do, other than get blown around all over the lake?

Fished Lake Evergreen Saturday from 9-4 and did not even see a fish. Water temps were 41-44. We went out with Gary Brady for the day and were even draggen meat, but no takers. Boy, it was really windy and cold. Still hopin to get out again this year.

I got sloshed around on Silver Lake on Sunday. I raised 2, one even checked out one of my suckers for quite some time before deciding not to grace me whith his presence. Both were low to mid 30" fish. I did not get the big girl, but there was a 48"er caught during the week in the same area. Oh well. I did manage a 35" pike on a Jake on Thursday when I snuck out for a few hours in the morning. The boat is now wrapped up for the winter, and the money I save from not buying suckers will now go to the shows this winter.
See you all at the shows.

I bank fished on the WI River a couple of hours on Saturday & Sunday afternoon - Saturday I had a Phish Killer moment ("Sssssssh I got a bite") on a + 40" fish. I was fishing from a large boulder with ~ 4' of water right at my feet. So I could actually figure eight the lure at the end of the casts. She followed three times on three different lures- 2 Zalts-1 floating Zam . Then I switched to a sinking Zam (06). Threw it out in the direction she took off too and brought it back slow w/ sharp snap's, when it got about 6' out from me I slowed way down & started jigging it . I was watching how cool the action was when she came off the side and slammed it, then came to a dead stop right in front of me. I thought "wow that was cool, that Zam looks really pretty with the head sticking out of her mouth". Then reality set in "set the f-ing hook"! alas by the time I reacted and started to set it she started turning away and spitting the lure- The hooks missed!

Went back on Sunday to see if her or one of her big sisters were willing to dance for the last hurrah of the season. Almost got blown into the river a couple of times. No go on the big girls but a 24"r did treat me to a final slime of the season. Very pretty fish with the setting sun reflecting off of it's svelt body.  Ohhhhhhhh God now I'm into withdrawl.

Fished the local hole on Sat. and had 2 small follows , 1 on a shallow invader(walleye) and one on a 6" Shaker(firetiger). Took my 6yr. old son Sunday and had another small follow on the Shaker. Nothing at all trolling, and the baitfish were more scattered than concentrated. May have been the gale force winds. Great time on the water.Water temps ranged from 37.8(low ) to a high of 40.8.
