Heading to Mille Lacs area July 24-27 I'm concerned with high water temps. Here in WI I'm seeing 85 degree water temps. Wondering if the large size of Milles Lacs if it will run cooler temps? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I had temps as high as 82 Tuesday when small mouth fishing. As big as the The lake is it’s not deep so it doesn’t take a lot for it to warm up. I know of a couple of guides that pulled the chute on Muskie fishing until things cool down up there.

A lot can happen between now and then but with the hot summer predicted, I wouldn't expect the water to cool much on a lake like that until we get some real cold fronts. If you end up going and it's still in the upper 70s I would consider water releases.

looking at the 10 day forecast I bet you are gonna be ok...a few rains, overnights in the upper 50's, no upper 80 degree days predicted and wind will cool the pond off...but then again can you ever really trust a 10 day forecast?

I echo what Justin said. Checking the 10 day for a week on Leech coming up Monday looks like cool nights and high 70's low 80's days. Some am showers should help. Water doesn't easily give up its heat, but I hope this weather helps to moderate lake temps.
