Location: MN | HAD A NEW HELIX 10 SI/DI DASH MOUNTED LATE LAST SUMMER AND IT WORKED GREAT UP UNTIL LAST WEEK WHEN IT STARTED "FREEZING UP" REPEATEDLY, SHORTLY AFTER TURNING THE UNIT ON....SOMETIMES WOULD HAPPEN IN THE START UP PAGE AND OTHERS WITHIN FIVE MINUTES AFTER START UP.... SCREEN AND ALL BUTTONS WOULD LOCK UP AND NO WAY TO RESET THE UNIT WITH OUT PULLING THE FUSE TO SHUT IT OFF.... AFTER A FEW RE STARTS IT WOULD EVENTUALLY START WORKING AGAIN....ALWAYS HAPPENED ON THE FIRST START UPS OF THE DAY.... ANY IDEAS WHAT MIGHT BE HAPPENING? |

Location: SW Ohio | Check your power leads and all connections between the unit and the battery. Ideally, it would have a dedicated power wire but that is not always how they’re wired (I haven’t got around to doing that to mine yet). These things can be picky with loose or corroded connections. If you have the capability, doing a voltage drop test at each connection can show where a wiring issue is.
The software may be corrupted. You can download the latest update from HBs website and install it. That fixed a similar issue I had with my H10 Gen 2.

Location: MN | Thanks for the info! I just got off the phone with the dealer and that was their first thought as well....They are going to check voltage (it is a brand new battery) and also software.... The battery leads were all cleaned this Spring when the new battery was installed....and the boat is a two year old Ranger but with the way they get bounced around anything is possible.... |

| Is this a single unit? What size of wire to power source? How far to power source? I have three units onboard and had a similar issue. Found that the time was set different on one of the units. all good now |

Location: Northern Illinois | It might be a wiring problem; but with it failing first thing in the morning when the batteries are strongest, I would suspect a problem with the unit itself. |
