| I just bought some of these stanley jigs from Gander Mountain in Milwaukee. I'm a big fan of the 1/2 jig with a 6/0 hook, but don't like the leader they have on it. Does anyone know if I can buy the jigs without the leader and trailers?
Thanks,
SLay em

| Can you tie your own to the jig using 7-strand and a bowline knot? That knot is not tight to the eye, amd so provides for extra action. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I agree with Ranger, make your own for that purpose. I have made my own Creature leaders for over 25 years, one way to get exactly what you are looking for. |

| I agree guys, I make my own jig leaders out of 53 steel. I've never had a problem with the stiffness affecting the action of my jig, and I trust it a lot more than 7 strand. But I'm open to suggestions.
I'm mainly looking for a place to buy the Stanley jigs heads seperate, because I don't need the premade leader or trailers that come in the package.
Thanks,

| I'd go with the J-Mac jigs that were featured in In-Fisherman this fall. Built well and they just came out with a 5/8 oz. size.Great jigs w/o a pre-made leader. Thorne Bros. carries all three sizes. Steve |

| Yes, the hook is the same style as the two heavier sizes but in a 7/0 I believe. I had problems with the site awhile back. Try a google search. Steve |

| steve,
what are your thoughts on those hooks? I can get er really sharp but it seems like a can't get a very strong point with that style hook. |
