| On a recent trip up north, my friend and I were jumped by 4 losers from MN outside a local tavern. The idiots tried to pick a fight with us inside(revolved around thier hatred towards the packers), but we nicely invited them outside. They were cowards and stayed in. The bartender closed the place and kicked my friend and I out. As we rounded the back of the building, I was confronted(in pitch darkness) by one of the jerks weilding a pool cue(all 4 had pool cues or other such weapanry). Long story short:ME one knocked out tooth(pool cue), one eye swollen shut(from a boot when I was down), dislocated nose(another club of some sort). My best friend had his jaw broken by a pool cue as he tried to help me. We were lucky.
Officer Thorhaug was very helpful, and we are going to find these losers. He took time from the beginning of his vacation to drive to our cabin the next day and confer with us as to how the investigation was proceeding.
The bartender allowed these guys out the back door through the living quarters with the pool cues etc, so she had something to do with it. Can''t give out any names here of bars or people as charges will soon be pending.
We did see some nice bucks though, and had an opportunity at a few smaller ones. |

| Sorry to hear about the incident that you guys encountered with the lunkheads. Man, just hearing that brings back some memories of some of the crap that some guys tried to pull on me and my old wrestling friends. Let's just say that they made the wrong mistake.
Anyway I hope justice will be served, and they nail em to the wall. I wish you better luck and hope you guys heal up fine. Take care and next time make sure to carry a reef hawg on a string. That should equal the odds when the cowards decide to grab pool sticks. |

| 10-4 Krappie, good idea. Though I think we'll just stay out of the whole scene from now on. Talking to the officer, we all concured that it kind of stinks that there are people who feel they can get away with these actions.
Oh well, I guess a lesson was learned. |

| Jason sorry to hear that. hope your wounds heal fast and remember what comes around goes around. They will get theirs, it may take awhile but they will get it. GatorBaiter |

| Yeah Jason that's probably best to just leave it as that. I remember someone being cited a felony for using a beer bottle in a bar room brawl. His hunting privileges are pretty much Nil since a felone can't own a firearm. Hopefully these jokers will get some a major fine and a feloney for using a pool stick as a deadly weapon. Pretty sad there's people like that out there, but like Gatorbaiter said...They'll get there's. |

| Good idea Jason! Rare is the time when you are in a "normal" place + stuff hits the fan....like Krappie I in my younger days had similar experiences + was fortunate to have come out unscathed....if it is really worth it then level them w/ whatever you can get your hands on! I figure anyone wanting trouble that bad needs a lesson they won't soon forget. The soreness will be gone before you know it![:sun:] |

| I hope you heal up fine Jason and it does not take away too much of your fishing time.
I hope they get nailed big time in criminal court. If the bartender is involved as you say, it sounds like you have one heck of a civil court battle too. Get them where it will really hurt, their wallets.
I almost never go into bars anymore for that reason. One or more bad apples can ruin it. There always seems to be one in the bar. I seen someone throw and m-80 in a beer bottle on a dance floor once. Had a drunk stop and look at me and jump on the stranger sitting next to me for no reason. |

| Jason,
Hope you're not hurting too bad. The wounds will heal. Once the legal procedings are over you should name the bar if you're able. I for one would not go there. No need for us to support bars/people like that.
Also, you should definately go after the bar and the four guys in civil court. You two not only sustained serious injury, but that was certainly a life threatening situation. You should take full advantage of your rights and the law.
Also, if the bartender doesn't get charged with a criminal act or wins in criminal court that doesn't mean you wouldn't win in civil court. My advice is to let law enforcement handle the criminal end, but you should hire a lawyer and go after them in civil court too. It will cost you nothing unless you win. Then the lawyer will probably get 30%, but I'm not sure what the laws in WI are. |

| Jason,
If you play your cards right you might make enough money to cover those bumps on your head and buy yourself a new boat.. You think positive, because its only negitive right now for those boys and the bar.
Let us know how things are going with this saga. I hope you feel better. |

| Jason: Hope you and your partners are feeling better, may these butt heads never catch or see another fish ever. As we all meet at the various shows this winter be sure to let us know the name of the bar so that we all stay away and spend our hard earned cash elsewhere |

| Jason, sorry to hear that happened to you. Had a similar experience once at a place called the "Deer Farm" on Hwy 53 in Minong/Wascott area. They caught the guys, about 10 in all. There were 5 of us. We all got knocked around, some worse than others, plus my buddy''s brand new bronco body was destroyed. The guys surrounded the vehicle and kicked it in. We tried to leave the scene but had to stop because there were 5 guys hanging on to the bronco as we drove away at 65 m.p.h. I''m glad no one was killed. The bar has changed hands since then.

| Jason...sorry to hear about this whole incident. Hopefully, everything will turn out for the best. The bar should really hold some liability if the bartender was included in any way. BTW...did you find your tooth?? Would be happy to fix your smile up if I was practicing out your way....
Reminds me of getting called into an adjoining Army base at 5 a.m. one Saturday to attend to a Colonels' son. He got drunk, had a fight, guy took his bat away and hit him in the face several times. Kid didn't know where 3 of his teeth were. 4 others were broken that we started root canals on. Then I spent 4 hours assisting the plastic surgeon in putting his face back together. As he left 7 hours later (and some 70 stitches richer), he turned around and said "Doc, what day is it?" Nuff said, he was still pickled. BTW he was going into the marines 2 days after that....I told him he definitely made the right choice!!
Best of Luck Jason,

| Sorry to hear the news Jason. I hope all goes and heals well. I hang out in that county now and then too. It seems like the only comfortable/safe places to go are the resorts on the lakes. Otherwise, there always seems to be some drunk local who wants to start some sh!t with you just because you’re wearing a gold watch. Maybe I shouldn’t stare and point though. [:blackeye:] |

| Jason-
Glad to hear you are OK after the ordeal. Glad that the Dep. was able to help you guys out.
Sounds like you have the right attitude though. Don't take any rash actions for retaliation. Seems like the guys who try to "get even" are the ones who get hammered in the end.
Just a suggestion...but, if you are really happy about the job the Deputy did, take the time to type out a letter and send it to his supervisor. Seems like in our line of work the only time you hear anything is when someone wants to complain that you looked at them cross-eyed while you were being "officer friendly". An attaboy always makes us smile...
Again, glad you are still "upright and breathing".

| Thanks for the replies guys. It really feels good to know I have alot of friends out there. Anonymous user, after about 15 minutes of ridicule we couldn't ignore them any longer and the egos in us got the best and we asked them to go outside, they didn't. As far as alcohol goes, I do not drink much, and when we left, it was after our 3rd beer. Not sure about the other dopes, don't care. We did heAR FROM THE OFFICER AGAIN, AND HE HADN'T GOTTEN ANYMORE LEADS, BUT TOLD US THE BAR OWNER WAS NOT OVERLY HELPFUL(HE SAID THE PLACE IS A s$%$HOLE).
My tooth is hanging by a little piece of skin, but it is the rut, and I don't want to waste my vacation this week going in(I'm heading in next week), till then its milk shakes!
Handyman, had a big Hoop in the sights last night!!!! 10-pointer in the high 130 class. I spooked it when I rattled as I didn't know it was only 40 yards away. Saw another dandy this morning, but he was too far(60+ yards), and that one looked like a wide 8 and quite heavy beamed. Fishing tommorrow hopefully, give me a call if you want to fish or hunt, my bow and boat are both in the driveway!!! |

| So Jason,
Does this mean that we're not fishing the river next week? :)
Seriously, that really sucks and I hope the ^$*(@%$ are caught and prosecuted. I'd find a hungry vulture (i.e. mean lawyer) and go after that bar/bartender in a huge civil suit as well.
Good luck heal quickly and I hope to hear from you soon.
