Location: Madtown, WI | Well I know several people took some or all of yesterday off of work to hit the lakes. I hit the water at noon thinking the fish would slide up on top of the weeds. The wind was NASTY yesterday here in Madison so it limited the areas to fish. Fished till 5 pounding the weeds, the edges and not a sniff...not even on the two suckers in tow. Then finally slid to the classic step rock breaks and was casting a DDD off a point. did the crank, twitch, long pause, and started to do it all over again but felt weight. Beak hooked a 41.5 inch girl that had missed quite a few of her Jenny Craig meetings. Probably one of the fattest fish I have caught. That was it for action.
I saw about 7 other boats out but all were gone from the launch when I got back, and it wasn't even dark yet so I am assuming it was tough all over.
Anyone else?

| Per the pattern that has been bubbling up as I've read various posts over the past 3 weeks, I skipped the nice day and went the next, when air temps had dropped 15 degrees. Boated two fish and had 3 nice follows, which is very good for the likes of me. |
