For the Northwest part of the state(Okoboji and Spirit) I would recommend either Shannon Green or Lance Christiansen. Both of these guys are great fishermen and know the waters well.Sorry but I don't have a # for either of them. In the Clear Lake area, there are the Becker brothers.Joel and Jeff I believe.Good luck in the Hawkeye State!!! Steve

Jerry Curry is based out of Mitchellville, just east of Des Moines. He is a former state record holder, 45 lbs. and change, I think. I know he fishes all over the state as well as out of state. His phone no. is 1-515-967-7269. Good luck fishing Iowa, Mike Jensen.

Hey Sledge, ya know I think that Steve Jonesi would put you on fish in that Hawkeye state. I had to listen to him tonite as he relayed the message of two in the boat today!! He also guides in Wisconsin as he has great knowledge of some lakes in the southwest corner of the state. You would be fishing out of a Ranger 620 which is a mighty fine musky machine and his knowledge, equipment and attitude are grade A. He's been a musky fishing machine for 25 years now, well worth the call for you. Best o luck!

Thanks guys.

I was thinking Okoboji, I'll track down your guys, Steve.

It's snowing here and we had ice on the lake this morning...must be time to sharpen the auger... Dammit, I could have used a few more weeks of goose hunting!

Brian, I'll be glad to show some fish on West O only if you can show me a fish on Merritt, a pike and a catfish and a walleye are the only fish that we caught @ Merritt drop me a line [email protected] P.S. are the geese heading for the Kearney area?

We've got more geese right now than I've seen for quite awhile.

The third-wave canadians are heading through as we speak. It's been snowing like a sonofagun all day and the lakes were frozen by 10:00am today. My Lab wasn't very impressed!! If you're gonna try Kearney, you better do it this weekend or next...head for the river or corn fields.

I'd be happy to put you on a Merritt Musky next Spring. Just let me know when you'd like to come.

If you get a chance, try the Missouri River. Not a lot of peope realize it but, NGPC stocked some purebreds awhile back and there are some really nice fish to be had.
