Does anyone troll after dark this time of year?
My local lake has a special shotgun hunt all around it so they close the lake to all boat traffic.
It's killing me not to get out after those big fall fatties, so I thought I would get out after hunting hours.

I have never fished after dark this late in the year & would like to hear some stories from you guys on this subject.

Thank you very much for your time in advance.

Is there a reason you are trolling and not casting?

Just curious?

I will do either .... I'm not much of a fan of trolling, so if I can cast it's all the better.

Where do you live? What lakes are you going to fish?

Yes I have heard of it, now I have not fished it.

The best advice I could give you is to try top waters in the shallow flats. With the warming trend we have had the last few days, the fish should still be shallow.

Try the Jackpot, move it slow, it's not a race.

Also, get a hold of Ralph Florio, www.muskyfever.com
He would be able to help was well.

I have recently had some luck trolling after dark. I was using a 10" Jake in Walleye, trolling slow with my electric motor. I boated the fish along shallow weed lines, the first break on a gently sloping falt. I also prefer casting, but I was by myself in a small boat and the wind chill was down around 15*. If I went in the drink it might be the last of me. Oh, I had been casting all afternoon without any action, as soon as the sun went down, and the chill came on strong, the fish started moving for me.

Thanks Ranger!!

I just got word that "the powers that be" on the lake won't even let me launch a boat and fish at night up there during shotgun deer season.
Where is the common sence in that rule? ....oh well.
