| Hey, just wondering if anyone has any recent experience on whitefish Lake in Hayward Wisconsin? I will be fishing it for the next week, water temperatures are currently around 66 surface. I saw a couple of older threads, but was just wondering if anyone had any tips on methods, or what to look for in general. Thanks, have a good one. | |

Location: Hayward, WI | Most people stick to darker water lakes in the area early in the season.

Location: Almond, WI | I have never fished it, but if I were, I'd fish open water. The bug hatches should be going, that will draw a whole lot of fish of all species to suspend, generally most will be high (top 15 feet). It would be up to you whether to cast or troll or both. I have a lot of success on relatively similar Vilas Co. lakes.
