Heading up to Spring Bank resort on Vermilion the week of June 26-July 4 for the first time since the annual trip to LOTW seems to be a no go. Heading up there for the first time with my dad. Anyone have any recommendations or advice for a Fishing that part of the lake? Smallmouth and musky are the main fins of choice.

Never been there. However I would think if you read some of the threads on the outings you might gather some intel. Then spread a few PM's around and I'm guessing a plan might take shape.

Good luck, let us know how you do.

Let me know what fish you want to catch. Steve will help you at Spring Bay Resort for sure, too.

x2 on talking with Steve at Spring Bay. If you can, hire him for a 1/2 or full day. Lots of good spots for whatever your species, on that end of the lake.

I only fished that area of the lake one time on a family vacation. Don't be shy about catching a few dinners the west side has excellent panfishing.

I am also headed to Spring bay. The week before you. I have booked Steve per all the requests but cant get him for a couple days. Can anybody point me in the right direction to get me started when I arrive?

Does the West end of Vermilion prefer a certain color bait, type of bait in the last week of June?

When I'm staying at spring bay will I be even attempting to venture as far east as big bay? Or will I have plenty of places to fish on the west end?

I'd say there's plenty of water to fish on the West end, and some areas I have seen muskies where very few fish folks for them.

When you arrive ask for Steve or Joe and they will mark your maps and tell you what’s working. Great people who treat you like family. You will have a very enjoyable trip.

West end is more than enough water. If you don't find them pushed up on the shallow cover don't be afraid to use electronics to search open water.
