Hey guys,
I'm thinking about buying a new bow mounted trolling motor, and would like to hear your suggestions. I have a 16' Bass Tracker and a 71 lb Motorguide right now, but want to upgrade. Thanks!

hiya,

If it were my boat, I'd go with minn kota terrova, 80 pound thrust with the built in transducer and ipilot. 60" shaft just to be ready for waves. The 80 lb is probably a bit overkill, but I've never heard anyone say they had too much power in their bowmount...

What kind of 'upgrade' are you seeking: more thrust, more features; both? 71 lb should turn that boat pretty well, already. Are you going with one battery or two? I run a 16 ft BT, also. m

Ulterra? If elderly and you fish long days would consider it for sure.I left Ulteras for an Ultrex which I love but miss the ulterra after a couple weeks use.Likely be replacing it.

Most thrust and most features you can reasonably afford...kind of like graphs...you’ll never wish you had a smaller screen or less power in your trolling motor.
