all depends on the weather, I fish up there a lot. Spring can be hit or miss depending on late or early spring. Looking like an early spring fish might be moved out of the tribs by opener. You can't go wrong fishing in Aug-Sept and into Oct.

I'll be freelancing the opener and in Canada last August and Early Sept. I guess the question is when do the fish get out of the tributaries and start feeding in the bay. Thanks

If you want to cast spring or august through October. Most guides will troll after this and October especially early we have had a history of strong north winds for weeks which makes it almost impossible to fish big water spots. There is an ok bite casting bite late late fall but not a numbers game at all.

It’s Hard to target post spawn fish as they spread out to the depths and the alewives move in by the literal millions. There are a few opportunities but likely not the bay experience you are looking for
