| I wish to add ceramic bearings to this reel.
Does anyone know where I can source and buy ceramic bearings for this reel?
Thank you for any assistance.

Location: On my favorite lake! | I use ZPI bearings on some of my reels and they are great. Look or ask if not listed how many grams of weight the Ceramics can withstand. Most max out under 2 oz. They also make more precise stainless bearings which are much better than stock. Boca bearings I didn’t see any difference from Chinese eBay bearings. Hedgehog are also very good , a couple of my bass reels have them. I would run a drop of oil in all ceramics. Zpi oil and TSI 321 is what I use for oil. |

| Hi,
The reason I wish to add ceramics is distance. I like long distance casting. My Simano Conquest has ceramics and it is joy to use. I would like to do the same for my Tranx.
It is hard to find information on having these put in. However I might have a way to get this done once I find and buy the ceramics I need. |

Location: Not where I want to be! | Not trying to insult you here. Did you try adjusting the centrifugal brakes. I run mine with only one brake activated and can cast a mile. |

| I was told that ceramics in a musky reel were not necessary because the weight of most baits used for musky is sufficient to maximize casting distance of the reel. Ceramics main advantage is the ability to cast lighter baits farther by allowing the spool to spin freer. My Tranx casts any musky bait a mile. I have the centrifugal brakes completely off and have no trouble casting baits as light as 1/2 oz.. Good Luck. |
