| Just wondering what reel everyone is using for sucker fishing? |

| I am using an old Saltist. It has a super loud clicker, a lock down no slip drag and a tension control knob that can handle big suckers while in free spool. It’s an awesome sucker reel which is nice since it never casted worth a #*^@. |

Location: north central wisconsin | I'm with Dan, been running the 7000's for a number of years. I like the IHSN model as it brings line in quick during the hook setting/initial throbs, and the clicker/lever on it is extremely stout. Just back from a week in MN, where dragging around 3lb bait is the norm, and the spool control on these reels aids in fewer false alarms/issues in big wind. |

Location: Contrarian Island | okuma convector 20 line counters. put the power handle on, and go to the hardware store and get a stronger nut to hold the handle on, one that comes with it will strip out. blue Loctite it on there. pretty solid reels for the money. |

| I am using Shimano Tekota 500's or a Shimano Torium. The Torium is the best big fish fighting reel I have used on a sucker rod. Very smooth, lots of power and 24 lbs of Drag. The New Tekota's have upped there drag as well and I have been happy with them. I have a couple of fish over 50 on them this fall on suckers and have been pleased. |
