| I have a 50hp 4stroke Mariner. A couple of weeks ago when under full power it made a metallic crackling sound and it almost felt like I had hit something- but had not. Same thing happened one mor time that day. I have since avoided high rpms but yesterday I could hear a popping sound intermittently.
Any thoughts on what may be going on? |

| Took it in the morning. Big chunks of metal in the lower unit oil. |
