You are correct. Guess everything is a matter of opinion. Many bigger fish have been caught at the Lodge. Still a beautiful fish either way!! |

| Wow cynics abound a nice fat 55+ caught in what looks to be pretty tough conditions and its not worth some excitement.

But in all seriousness, that’s a giant. If you aren’t impressed by 40-50 pounders, it’s probably time for a new hobby.

Maybe when you are so good you catch 58s with regularity? |

| A 54.5x26 was caught up on Lac Suel as well. I know angles are one thing but the 54.5 off Lac Suel looks way more impressive. From Moose Horn Lodge.

It's no wonder why some people dislike Muskies, they don't just the idiots who chase them. |

Based on the formulas that fish is pushing 50#. It might not be a "giant" to some folks, but I'd bet you could count the # of guys here who have caught a 50#er on one hand. |

What the hell difference does that make anyway?
We are at AML now and saw them land the fish. Went over and helped with the measurement and pictures. She was a legitimate 55.5"X26.5", and carried the girth full length. A huge congratulations to Frank!
Anyone who thinks that isn't a giant is either...well, never mind.
Images, video, and more once we get back to where we have a workable internet connection. There's a back story to this fish as well, it had been caught in August and was at that time reported as longer.
And, we were told it's the biggest muskie out of AML this season.

That's a true unicorn! Eagle lake fish are some true heavyweights. AML rocks em out! |

You've got nothing to complain about with your year though either...Banner year for your boat overall and a great year for fish!! Think of what your guide fee could be.... $$$$$$$

Let's not... not call this fish what it really is. It is a GIANT. A few people catching 55 inch fish or better does not change that.
Let's just think about this for a moment...
Someone catches their first Muskie... and it is 55 inches. Could be a kid... might be an adult. After the person who caught the fish screams... "WOW, WHAT A GIANT!" Are the first things out of your mouth going to be - that's not a giant?
Get real. |
