| Hey guys. I’m getting into trolling for these things more and more. I’ve had success but nothing too consistent. But I know wandering baits trigger most fish. What are the best “wandering” crank baits to troll on the market today? ANY help would be awesome thanks!! |

| Ben Modica (musky Fix)makes a bait called a walker that is a good one.
Chad Wyss makes some nice ones too.

| 10" mattlock is my top one, for sure. Highly highly recommend. Wanders like crazy, just so erratic. And kind of an aside, but when I think about "wandering" baits, there are 2 types- a swinging, predictable wander, and an erratic wander. Some baits that I've tried have a more predicable, swinging wander, in that they don't track perfectly straight, but kind of continuously swing back and forth like a pendulum by a couple feet. Baits that I've tried that do that include Wyss and Phantom's hex. Really like the 10" hex for this type of wander, and have done well on it.
And then there is an erratic wander, in that they track fairly straight but then randomly shoot out to the side and swing in a much less predictable manner. So far, headlocks/mattlocks are the only I've found that do this. I really like this style of wander. Several folks have copied this style of lip and pin, but supernatural makes amazing baits. They straight up get bit.
Does anyone else have any input or make much of a distinction between a real erratic wander, versus a predictable, pendulum-like wander?

| 10' Believers have an erratic wander to them. Trolled faster then 4 mph seem to bring on the wander. The guys from Slob Land talk about this on one of their episodes:

Location: Land of the Musky | As far as I know this is the widest wondering bait on the market today. 30" to 32" wide double wobble.
TI Grunt lures made in the USA too.

| X2 on the Hex... sweet action!
Metal lipped cranks like the ol' Ojibwa and Cicso kid diver the 9" can be tuned to wander pretty good too... for a smaller profile...
...all three put fish in my boat.... |

No problem! They've caught quite a few fish in the last year and Brad is a super nice guy to deal with. |
